FAQs

Can I link my UCAS medical school application to the University? No – when at school or college it was possible to link your application (confirmed using a buzzword) to the organisation. When applying to UCAS whilst at University, you are considered an independent applicant. It is important that you don’t use your old school/college link.

I have made a mistake on my application – what are my options? It is important to ensure that all information is accurate, especially your UCAS identification number which Universities will use to match your application to your results. If you have made a mistake, you need to inform the test centre who can submit a candidate amendment form for you. However there is a deadline for this, typically the deadline for applications.

Will the test centre provide support or training for the BMAT? No – the centre’s only role is to administer the test on behalf of Cambridge Assessment Academic Testing, and is not responsible for providing additional support. There are numerous sources of material (much freely available) on the internet, including the BMAT web pages.

How do I see my BMAT result? At the end of the test, you will be provided with details on how to access your results – which are made available on the 22nd November. You will need your unique candidate number – so please keep this safe.

Do I need to inform medical schools of my results? All medical schools that you selected on the registration list will be automatically informed of your results. If you have applied to universities that require a BMAT score but weren’t on the list, then you will be provided with instructions on how to inform them of your scores.
