First Critical Practice exhibition 7th – 12th December 2018
An exploration into the human condition and experience.
‘Named after the most common route sailed during the slave trade, the Middle Passage was a representation of life and death aboard the ships. The palate was used to represent the cramp conditions the slaves were accustomed to, with the single bulb representing the end of life. The harsh realities the captives were forced into was far from beautiful, so the mirror was a juxtaposition of this whilst also drawing reference to the high amounts of money circulating.’
