About Me

Golf has been a hobby of mine since the age of 15 and since then I have seen my curiosity span into every aspect of the game and the industry that has grown from the sport. Wether it is the design and everyday management of world class golf courses, to the running international tours that host tournaments all across the world, and even further developing my understanding the mechanics behind the golf swing. However, the area that peaks my curiosity is the designing and selling of equipment whether that is apparel and footwear, bags or the clubs themselves. I find the huge variety of designs fascinating with each company finding there own unique way to try and improve the performance of their products.

There are huge amount of equipment designers in golf working for a wide range or companies. However, when it comes to design in golf there are three people who I find particularly interesting these are Scotty Cameron (Titleists master putter maker), Bob Vokey (Titleists master wedge maker) and Katsuhiro Miura (master club maker at Miura golf).

Scotty Cameron is based in California and many in the golf industry consider him to be the best putter maker in the world with him currently producing four lines of putters all of which have their own unique qualities.

Much like Scotty, Bob Vokey is commonly considered to be the leading designer and craftsman of wedges ever since starting as titleists head wedge designer in 1997.

The link between the first two craftsmen is their long burning passion for equipment design and the years that they have spent in pursuit of their ever growing high standards. Katsuhiro Miura is no different. Despite being located on the other side of the world he has also spent decades pursuing perfection. And like Scotty and Bob this has lead to him producing some of the most coveted products in golf.
