ReadingLists@Brighton

This is the university’s online reading list system, using Aspire to provide students with links to core and recommended readings.  Reading lists from 17/18 have been copied to the 18/19 time period, linked from the new Studentcentral module and published.  The lists have had a refresh and now have a new look – more visual, less cluttered and mobile friendly.  Please check your list to ensure that the content is up-to-date and reflects the current teaching on the module – it is very easy to make amendments and additions to your list and our web pages provide help and guidance.

If a module has changed code or is a new module then a new reading list will need to be created – this guide outlines the process for academic staff.  If you need some training please don’t hesitate to get in contact with the library team.

Also new this academic year are our student support pages- please use these with students  or refer them on to the library team.

Looking for books and resources to support your teaching?

Please don’t hesitate to get in contact with your library team to request print and online materials to support your teaching – it can take some time for books to be received from our supplier so please give us plenty of notice to avoid student frustration and disappointment.

We are also able to create scans of core readings ie. chapter or article which are compliant with copyright licensing regulations – please get in touch.

Have you arranged teaching sessions for your students with library staff?

The staff in Aldrich library can offer students a whole variety of sessions to support their learning and the use of our print and online resources – from induction to advanced literature searching, from using market research information to EndNote software or 1-2-1 support for dissertation projects.   We are keen to have a conversation with you about the best way we can support your students.
