Futurist expert inspires Brighton Marketing students
The School of Business and Law was delighted to welcome back Sean Pillot de Chenecey as a visiting lecturer on the final-year ‘Futurism for Marketers’ module this semester.
Sean is a foresight, strategy, and innovation consultant with over 20 years of experience at leading marketing agencies and as a lecturer. Specialising in #NowNextWhy projects, he has consulted for a range of global organisations, including governments, NGOs and major brands such as Vodafone, Heineken, and Nespresso. He’s also the UK Associate Partner for the Copenhagen Institute for Future Studies, a world-leading organisation that helps people and organisations imagine, work with, and shape their future. For many years, he has worked with them to help clients get #FuturesReady.
Sean is also the author of ‘The Post-Truth Business’ (a No.1 business bestseller) and ‘Influencers & Revolutionaries’ (shortlisted for the ‘Business Book of the Year’ awards). His podcast, ‘The New Abnormal’, has been downloaded over 250,000 times.
During his time on campus, Sean shared his insights as he challenged students to think beyond the present and develop the skills needed to anticipate change in a fast-moving industry.
Commenting on his contribution to the Futurism for Marketers module, Dan Bennett, Principal Lecturer in Marketing, said:
“Sean is a global leader in future thinking and teaching, and to have his expertise as part of the module is incredible. He brings a wealth of experience and insight on the subject and, as he’s done on previous courses, has made a valuable contribution to the students’ knowledge development in this area.”
