This section explains how referencing can be managed digitally using tools to capture, format and export references.

Referencing is used by authors to acknowledge where they have used the output of others to create their piece of work. Each subject has their own style of referencing – see the ASK website for more information. There are various digital tools to help create and manage references which can be used together to capture, format and manage references and create bibliographies and reference lists. Endnote is available on all poolroom computers and can be accessed outside the University through Endnote Online.

Referencing correctly, and quickly, is an important skill that you will need in your studies. Many of the functions of the Endnote software are similar to other online information management systems so will prepare you for the range of systems you will encounter in employment.
