Join us for a free online symposium on creative research methods on Monday 19th May 2025 14:00-15:30 BST

The Creative Research Methods Group invite you to join us for another vibrant symposium on creative research methods on Monday 19th May 2025 14:00-15:30 BST on Microsoft Teams.

This session features:

Abby Barras, University of Brighton – ‘Create/Connect: Amplifying Young Trans and Gender Diverse Voices through Creativity

Create/Connect is a collaborative 2-year project, run by the Creativity, Community and Resilience research team. In the project, trans and gender diverse young people, youth organisations and researchers work together to explore how community belonging supports young people’s wellbeing, and how we can use our creativity to build collective resilience when facing societal challenges. https://www.createconnectproject.co.uk/

Max Davies, University of Brighton – ‘Let’s Get Creative: Exploring Children’s Experiences in Gender Creative Families’

Max will discuss their research, which draws attention to the parental style of gender creative parenting, where parents do not gender their children and children are given an environment that allows them the freedom to explore gender without constraints. Max uses art as an activity to engage in conversations with young people (Ages 4-7) to gather knowledge on their experience of gender creative parenting and ideas of gender.

The group is open to all who share our passion for creative methods and our desire to provide a supportive, stimulating space within which to explore these. No advance sign-up is required; just turn up on the day if you wish to join us.
