Apprenticeships at Brighton

Meet one of our new Construction Site Manager Degree Apprentices

Last week we caught up with Liam Major, one of our apprentices on our new Construction Site Manager Degree Apprenticeship at the University of Brighton.

His seven year career progression began with lower-level apprenticeships and led to him undertaking a degree apprenticeship in Construction Site Management – all with the constant support of his employer Croudace Homes Limited.

Liam is currently working as an Assistant Site Manager with the goal of being chartered once he has completed the apprenticeship.

“I’ve been working in the industry for about 7 years now. I started off as Apprentice Brick Layer as an NVQ, I then went on to do a Higher National Certification in Building and the Environment, all through my employer Croudace Homes Limited.

I’ve always felt that apprenticeships are the best option for me, because I learn more effectively ‘hands on’ rather than through more traditional routes.

I’m looking forward to learning new things and different techniques to apply to my job and gain a better understanding of how my roles fits into the bigger picture of construction.”

We look forward to hearing how Liam gets on and wish him the best of luck with his studies and future career.
