Exploring youth culture and sustainability- part 2

concept-

for my photoshoot to fit in with the theme of sustainability I am planning on making my models clothes out of used materials and clothing, with the parts I can’t make myself I will be using from my own wardrobe. on the left page I have done a sketch of what I want my final look to be. I want to have an outfit with lots of layers as that’s what I was most drawn to when doing my research and mood boards. I want to start by making a top out of black tights I think the sheer material would contrast well with the other colours I am planning on using, I also think its an interesting material and could add a lot of texture to my models look. I want to take multiple pictures of the different parts of the outfit so I have a lot of variety. on the right I have done the second layer to my models top, I wanted to add more colour to the look so I am planning on making a top to go over the tights. this top would be made out of an old skirt and will twist around the subjects body. I want to pair these items with some pants that I purchased from a charity shop and my own shoes. I also want to accessorise using safety pins as earrings and making hair accessorise out of can lids. I experimented with a few designs as seen on the other page and liked this one the most. I still want to develop the look more to get the best outcome and try a few more looks for the shoot. I think up-cycling old clothing works well in this project and is something that should be brought up more in the fashion industry.

to improve my sketch book more I want to add more inspiration images to the pages and material swatches to get a better idea of what I’m planning on doing.

Exploring youth culture and sustainability- part 1

mind map

On this page I have put some idea’s I have for this project in a mind map. my project theme is past to the present, in the mind map I have written about why I chose to call my project this title, what plans I have for my photoshoot’s, and how this all links up. i like to start of with a mind map so I can get all my idea’s onto one page and when the project is finished I will be able to see how they developed. I also included a second mind map that I made when I was doing my trail shoots, I thought this would be good to add as it has a lot of ideas of the type of person/character that would relate to my concept. to improve I would want too add more images and drawings as I think it would be able to give my writing more context and give the mind map more depth.
