Save the Children Christmas Jumper Day

Wear your Christmas jumper on Friday 16 December and raise funds for great causes.

Many thanks to our colleagues who participated in the Christmas jumper appeal last year and raised over £200 for charity. This year we invite you to join us again in donning your festive knitwear during the season of goodwill and help us double that amount for Save the Children.

It’s easy to get involved: simply dig out your favourite festive woolly, wear it to work and donate £2 or more. Simply text the code BRJU50 £2 to give £2 or BRJU50 £5 to give £5 to 70070 or you can donate online.

All donations received will be equally split between the university’s Global Opportunities Scholarship fund and the annual Save the Children Christmas Jumper Day appeal.

Thanks to the generosity of our staff, alumni, friends and students, the university welcomed its first two Global Opportunities scholars in September. Emad and Hussam are hugely grateful for the opportunities the scholarship has given them: “To be chosen as Global Opportunities scholars means the world to us. We cannot thank the university and its supporters enough for giving us this chance.” You can read more about both scholars’ experiences here.

As one of the only universities in the country offering scholarships of this kind to the asylum seeker community, the University of Brighton is sending a powerful message of welcome to people who have been forced to seek safety in Britain. We want to ensure these scholarships continue supporting people who have had to flee their homes, meaning that every penny you donate will make a difference.

Thanks for your support!
