Daniel Warren Johnson is a working comic book writer and illustrator, who has produced work for DC and Marvel. I really like the way he frames a picture, and draws the reader in, a technique I wanted to use.

My main takeaway from Daniel Warren Johnson was his ability to create motion and impact. He does this using two techniques, one being speed lines. These are lines all going in the direction of the motion and create the feeling of the background blurring with the action and creates a really aggressive sense of direction. The other is his motion blur lines. He creates jagged lines following the direction of motion in order to convey speed and force he usually applies this to kicks, punches and weapons.
