“I have been aware of this course for a while, visiting the summer show in 2019 convinced me to apply. I wanted to give my work some depth and surround myself with other artists.”

Hi Anthony – please tell us a bit about your work and influences

“My multi-disciplinary practice employs the theme of ‘manual labour’ as a lens through which I search for inherent truths about the human experience. drawing plays a major role, with the figure featuring heavily. Often using materials intended for the construction industry I am influenced by my working-class background and personal experiences as a manual worker.”

How have you found your course and time at Brighton?

“I’ve been here for over 20 years. Brighton’s ‘live and let live’ attitude is unique. This course has really opened-up my thinking and transformed the way I work. I’m now a much braver artist.”
