I am an image curator and my work in my final year has centred around luxury fashion, which is where I draw the most inspiration for all my projects including the photography, illustrations and layout elements.
Please tell us about your final year project
My final major project is a luxury fashion magazine, and I have called it ‘The Luxury Convention’. It is a bi-annual publication, and an encyclopaedic guide that reviews and reflects on the latest season in the fashion industry. It is a channel for members from creative fields, and for those outside the industry to gain an insight into more than what the brand is presenting on the runway.
The objective of the magazine is to encourage readers from outside the industry to engage in conversations and dialogues about the luxury fashion business and as shoppers to be better informed about different brands when making purchases. It is for readers interested in, or wanting to invest in luxury fashion, as well as for those that just want to know more about the business.
How have you found your course/time at Brighton?
I have been in Brighton and on the course since September 2015, and I can very happily say that it has been one of my best experiences with education so far! My course mates and tutors are always super supportive and and always encouraging me to step out of my comfort zone to achieve the end outcomes I am looking/aiming for and irrespective of how far-fetched or bizarre my ideas might seem.
What are your plans after Graduation?
I am currently working part-time with an Italian luxury brand in London as a wholesale operations business analyst and after my term at university ends, I will switch to a full time role. This is an area I have become interested in through my placement year and I’m very pleased to have an opportunity to work in logistics and operations straight out of university!
