Fashion with Business alumni and Brighton-based designer Gresham Blake has given the city its own check. Gresham, who each season designs a small collection of tartan trousers (and incidentally recently designed the Mayor of Brighton’s new robes), created the tartan to reflect “the city’s rich culture and flamboyant history.”

The colours of the fabric are designed to represent the sea (blues), the South Downs (greens) and the city’s flamboyance (pinks and golds) and has been certified by Mayor West.
