For this project ‘Getting over construction’ i chose a treehouse near my new home at the start of lockdown. we had to move and the house was unfinished so we had to eat our dinner on the stairs. My home was a construction site so the treehouse was an escape from all the chaos. whilst living in these conditions the word hiraeth became stuck in my head, this word means longing for a home that doesn’t exist or never was in the first place. this made me think about the things that make a home and my answer was that it is the people who reside there. this resulted in me deciding to make faces out of clay to bring to life the treehouse.
