Constructing her work on cross culture in her personal life, Sara Paowana explores her Thai cultural heritage in conflict with her British heritage. She uses textile in her work to weave together traditional Thai silk and oriental food packages to create a tapestry reflecting her cultural identity which is placed in a British environment establishing a sense of displacement. The contrast of this relates to her own feelings of growing up in British society and the struggles of holding onto her Thai identity, the battle is ongoing.
