Angels are superior-spiritual beings that are believed to act as helpers, agents or messengers of God. Since medieval times, angels had been a subject or just as an ornamentation in the art world. However, to me my artwork does not only represent my spiritual beliefs but also a craving for a safe place. The idea of 2 figures represented on the animation comes from a dream triggered from a moment when I first met someone very significant in my life. My intention is to capture vulnerability. During the pandemic my feelings had been unstable and the desire for being away from earth had heightened. For me, Heaven is the sublime place.

 

Utopia is an ambitious term which describes the most ideal and right mode of government. Throughout history, the concept of a utopia has been used as a promotor for an attractive and reachable future. However, it has been included in extremist’s ambitions from social movements. Utopia became a more non-generic term, seeming impossible, or at least socially unlikely to happen. Nevertheless, Utopia always conveys an image of ‘paradise’ and progress which I believe contrasts with my piece. Thanks to the pandemic I could be a part of the innovation, which offers me new opportunities to be introduced to the digital world, while not forgetting the origins of art.
