I could not imagine utopia as a specific place, but more as an ideal and a dream of a hopeful future, therefore I decided to focus on exploring the theme as an emotion and a concept. ‘Feeling Utopic’ is my attempt at creating a piece of art that captures the feeling that a utopia would instil in people; I wanted it to be exciting and playful, but also soothing and euphoric. For ‘Mother of the New World’ I decided to convey my belief that in a perfect future, the existence of nature and technology would have to find a harmony and a better way to coexist. I feel like to achieve progress and to develop, we need to look at the benefits or the things in this world find a way forward that utilises the present strengths to abolish our current struggles. This would be the dream: this would be my utopia.
