26th September

The emphasis of our work party moved to a different location in the wood and with fewer volunteers, we concentrated on the west path system. It gets terribly wet and muddy in the winter and the path has widened to 2 meters in places so Tim carefully plotted a sensible route, marked out with fallen timbers about 0.75 metres wide. The team then worked hard to fill the route with brash, corduroy and wood chippings. A gentle scent of fungi is beginning to waft around the wood, still warm and sunny. The morning ended with a birthday celebration.
