Focus my friend! Are you in danger?
Marie Yates, 2019, a poster in 3 parts, 300x150cm
Everyone has the sense that he or she once belonged somewhere. However, this place has been lost, and the purpose of human life is to once again find this place. We are all migrants now.
Marie Yates’ work consists of image and text projects which present the notion of art as a social construct rather than an object or image-based aesthetic experience. She uses photomechanical and digital techniques, texts, and installation to create work that is brought into dialogue with a significant aspect of the sociopolitical process and the world beyond art, particularly women’s issues globally.
