241 Days

241 Days

edited and translated by BOLZEM, abridged and produced by Sweetshop

241 Days is a selection and collation of events in Russia in 1917 from the February Revolution, which overthrew the Tsar, through the period of Dual Power ‘shared’ between the Petrograd Soviet and the Provisional government, to the October Revolution.

The material is from Brian Chadwick, an artist, translator and scholar who has spent many decades studying the archives of the revolution, and is working to make a calendaric mosaic of reports and documents of events as they took place one hundred years ago.

  1. Dear Brian,

I am not sure if you are the correct person but I am trying to contact my old friend Brian Chadwick. The last time we met was in the 70/80’s before I returned to South Africa. It’s Dr Mahadevan Perumal, ex spouse of Larrissa.

Hope to hear from you soon.

    Best Regards
    Mahadevan

I am so sorry to tell you that Brian passed away a year ago, he was still working on this, his last project 241 days. There is a group of his students who still meet, and are helping to sort and archive his work and research. I was a student of his in the mid 1980’s, and worked with him then on a number of projects, and all of us miss him greatly.
