Campus cycle facilities

View our cycle facilities on the interactive map, which includes bicycle storage, parking and free standing permanent bike pumps. Please remember to wash or sanitise your hands before and after using any cycle facilities across the campuses.

New keys to the Cockcroft and Watts cycle cages are not currently being issued as the university cash offices are closed. Cyclists are encouraged to use the new facilities in the Moulsecoomb Parking facility which is accessible with your UniCard.

Moulsecoomb Parking Facility – cycle parking and locker access

The Moulsecoomb Parking Facility has a dedicated cycle storage area on the ground floor,  accessible to students and staff using your UniCard. There are 314 undercover bike parking spaces, showers, changing facilities, lockers, a drying room, tool station and bike pump.

Lockers in the cycling facilities are also accessed using your UniCard. You can apply to have a locker allocated to you using the Moulsecoomb Parking Facility Locker Application Form. Applications will be assessed and you will be notified when a locker has been allocated to you. Access to your locker can take up to 2 working days. Submission of an application does not guarantee you a locker.

Mithras podium cycle storage

The cycle storage under the podium at the Mithras Halls can be used for cycle parking, accessible from the south side of the ramp up to Mithras House. It can be accessed with a key card available from the halls reception in Brunswick Hall.

Please note the cages at the base of the halls towers are for residents use only.

Cyclists should use the University cycling facilities in accordance with the University’s Cycle facilities and micro-mobility policy.

E-bikes and battery safety

E-bikes can be used on campus and should be stored in the cycle storage available across the campuses. Moulsecoomb has dedicated lockers in the Parking Facility where e-bike batteries and other accessories can be charged.

Batteries can be charged on campus following safe methods outlined in the Occupational Safety and Health Services Guidance on Lithium Ion Storage and Charging to ensure everyone’s safety.

Students are also reminded that using and charging e-scooters on the university campuses is prohibited, as stated in the University’s Cycle facilities and micro-mobility policy.
