Cycling

Cycling to the university is a great way to keep fit, reduce your carbon footprint and could save you money!

The university encourages cycling to its campuses and there are cycling facilities on all sites, including Brighton Beryl Bikes (Brighton campuses only).

Cyclists can also join the university’s Bicycle User Group (BUG) email list. The BUG provides the opportunity to students and staff to email each other with bike related queries or issues, and to receive any relevant news from the university, such as free bike maintenance checks or bike training.  If you would like to join the group please email the IS service desk and request to be added to the email list: ServiceDesk@brighton.ac.uk.

E-bikes and battery safety

E-bikes can be used on campus and should be stored in the cycle storage available across the campuses. Moulsecoomb has dedicated lockers in the Parking Facility where e-bike batteries and other accessories can be charged.

Batteries can be charged on campus following safe methods outlined in the Occupational Safety and Health Services Guidance on Lithium Ion Storage and Charging to ensure everyone’s safety.

Using and charging e-scooters on the university campuses is prohibited, as per our Cycle Storage and Micro-mobility Policy.
