Car-sharing

Car-sharing during COVID-19 pandemic

In line with advice from the Government, students are to walk or cycle to campus where possible.

If you normally share a vehicle with people from other households or support bubbles for essential journeys, the Government recommends you find a different way to travel so that you can maintain social distancing. For example, consider walking, cycling or using your own vehicle if you can.

Car sharing within your household is permitted. See the Government advice for car sharing with people outside your household: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-safer-travel-guidance-for-passengers#private-cars-and-other-vehicles

University car-sharing

Only students with a valid car-park permit can park on campus.

The university’s car-sharing platform Travel Smart operated by Liftshare is no longer running. If you have an account you will be able to continue to access this account via liftshare.com. If your journey was added as private, it will remain private. If your journey was added as open to the Liftshare network, it will remain open. If a member contacts or matches with any member with a journey in the Liftshare.com network, they will only see their first name and the first 3 letters of their postcode

All member accounts will be retained by Liftshare until a member requests to have their account deleted. Members can at any point delete their account, this account removal option is available to the member in their account pages.
