December 2016 – January 2017
Cut carbon, win chocolate & support refugee status students!
Once again this Christmas, staff and students across the university will be coming together as part of our c-change campaign – to switch off unnecessary energy-guzzling equipment and lights, and help cut carbon emissions while the university is closed.
To help spread the word, staff can download this poster to email around to colleagues, which also includes carbon-cutting tips especially for labs – the most energy-intensive areas of the university.
Raise funds for refugees
Not only will you be helping to cut carbon, but by taking part in the Big Xmas Switch Off you’ll be helping fund scholarships for student asylum seekers, who have been forced to flee their homes.
Any savings made on our energy bills will be put towards the university’s Global Opportunities Scholarship fund. Last year, £1.5k was donated to the fund as a result of the campaign.
5 boxes of chocolate are up for grabs!
See below for details on how you could win one of 5 boxes of delicious Green and Blacks Fairtrade organic chocolate, in return for helping spread the word about the Big Xmas Switch-Off!
Help spread the word and win chocolate!
The university’s c-change team is offering up 5 boxes of delicious Green and Blacks Fairtrade organic chocolates, in return for helping to spread the word about the ‘Big Xmas Switch-Off’ to your colleagues/coursemates/friends:

- Facebook (staff and students): Post a pic or update about how you’re taking part on the ‘University of Brighton c-change campaign’ facebook page wall.
