The traditional Chinese Family

‘Blood Bond’ is like a belt that unite family members together in a typical Chinese family which usually includes three generations living together, they are grandparents (the parents of the man), parents and children. And this is regarded as “heavenly happiness” in the eyes of Chinese people. It’s the responsibility of the children to take care of their old parents.

Children will provide the accommodation, support the daily consumption and accompany them to the hospital when they are ill. If anything bad happens, children are the first to turn to for help. At the same time, when the parents have work to do, grandparents are expected to look after the grandchildren. They will make meals, clean the house, take grandchildren to school, and pick them up from school… just name a few. In a word, every family member does their part making home run smoothly.
