Thinking of applying to the Student Support Fund? Act NOW to receive an outcome before Christmas

The Student Support Fund is one of the university hardship funds, and is in place to support students who find themselves struggling financially. Applications are open across the academic year and Home undergraduate, PGCE and postgraduate students are eligible to apply. The fund is also open to EU undergraduate students receiving the standard student finance package (eg migrant workers and those who have been living in the UK for at least 5 years).

If you wish to apply, please read the application guidance before doing so.

In order to have your application considered this side of Christmas, you will need to submit a complete application and all relevant documentation by Friday 27 November. Successful applicants will be notified and paid on or before Thursday 24 December, direct into their nominated bank account, using the details entered on Student View. Please make sure these details are up to date.

This year we have launched a new online form for undergraduate applications, which is accessible via the Student View area of My Brighton. We are no longer accepting applications by post.

Postgraduate applications and evidence should be scanned and emailed from your University email address to funds@brighton.ac.uk

Incomplete applications submitted before 27 November will not be considered until all evidence has been supplied, so please read through the checklist carefully and keep checking your uni email to see if the Assessors have asked for anything additional. For example, we request 3 months of bank statements for EVERY account you hold, not just your main account.

The team work really hard to process applications as quickly as possible, especially at this busy and challenging time of year, but unfortunately we cannot guarantee that applications and evidence received after 27 November will be considered before the New Year.
