Student Advice Service – Money Matters

News from the Student Advice Service at the University of Brighton

Student Advice Service is supporting Wellbeing Week. Come and join us

The Student Advisers love nothing more than getting out on campus and chatting to students.

We’re taking the opportunity to get involved in Wellbeing Week by having a pop up information stall at each campus throughout the week where we’ll be promoting healthy eating on a budget and explaining how healthy budget = healthy mind 🙂 but of course, you can come and ask us anything you like about your student funding, budgeting, top money saving tips, DWP Benefits or anything else money related.

Who says you can’t get something for nothing? Not us – come and test your wits by tasting a couple of snacks to see if you really can taste the difference…….

We are also running 2 x 30 minute workshops at Moulsecoomb and Eastbourne as part of the ‘Learn’ day this Wednesday 20th November. Session 1 covers what funding student parents are eligible for and session 2 is all about shopping and eating healthy on a student budget.

Here are the all important times and locations for the pop up stalls:

Tuesday 19th November:

Checkland Atrium, Falmer 12 – 2

Sprinters Restaurant, Eastbourne 12 – 1.30

Thursday 21st November:

Next to Aldrich library, Moulsecoomb 12 – 2

Gallery, main building Grand Parade, City 12 – 2

And the workshops:

Wednesday 20th November

Eastbourne, Queenwood G30: Funding for Student Parents 12.00 – 12.30 and Healthy Eating on a Budget 12.30 – 1.00

Moulsecoomb, Watts 512: Funding for Student Parents 12.00 – 12.30 and Healthy Eating on a Budget 12.30 – 1.00

And not directly related to Wellbeing Week, but certainly directly related to your wellbeing, we are encouraging all students to REGISTER TO VOTE so if you have got any questions about how to register, postal or proxy voting options, please come and ask us. We’ll have ipads at the ready so all you need is your National Insurance number to register online.

See you later in the week!
