Student Advice Service – Money Matters

News from the Student Advice Service at the University of Brighton

Student Support Fund (continuing student deadline)

Did you know that the university operates an additional funds scheme which is open to all students?

These funds are managed by the Student Advice Service. They are not Bursaries or Scholarships – which are managed by different departments.

There are different funds for different situations and it can be a bit of a minefield finding out exactly what is available. Often we only want to know about things when we need them and finding the right information can be confusing. Hopefully this will makes things easier……click here for the full list of what is available during term time.

The main fund, open to Home students receiving student finance from England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland is called the Student Support Fund. Complete applications must be received by Friday 8th June (or Friday 22nd June for Health Science students and Postgraduates) which coincides with the end of term for September starters. Applications for final year/PGCE students have now closed.

We also have a small fund during the summer, which is not yet listed, but you can contact us for more information about this at the end of term.

So far this academic year we’ve already made 653 non repayable awards to students.

If you have any questions, we strongly recommend you talk to a Student Adviser before you apply. You can give us a ring on 01273 642888 or pop in to see an Adviser at your campus. Click here for our full contact times and locations.
