Student Advice Service – Money Matters

News from the Student Advice Service at the University of Brighton

Are you studying without the support of a family network? Do you want to know more about help and support or take part in some national research?

Are you an estranged student under the age of 25?

Are you studying without contact from your living birth parents?

Are you aware of support available at the university?

You may have received some emails from Student Services telling you about additional support you can access. This could be in the form of additional funds, access to Momentum (our mentoring programme), study skills sessions or wellbeing workshops. If this is you and you want to know more about how Student Services can help support you through your studies, please have a look at our help and advice pages for current students or contact your Student Support and Guidance Tutor SSGT in the first instance.

Also, we have been contacted by a student at Durham University who is undertaking a dissertation project around the issue of estranged students. This is completely independent to the University of Brighton, but if you would like to be part of the research and share your views and experiences, Amie would love to hear from you. Please see details above for more information.
