Student Advice Service – Money Matters

News from the Student Advice Service at the University of Brighton

Last week of term = last chance to apply for hardship funds (sort of)

Did you know that the university has a suite of hardship funds open to students? There are different funds for students in different situations and it can be a bit of a minefield finding out what is available. Often we only want to know about things when we need them and finding the right information can be confusing. Hopefully this will makes things easier……click here for the full list.

This academic year we’ve already made 700 awards to students.

The main fund, open to Home students receiving student finance from England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland is called the Student Support Fund. The fund closes this Friday 9th June, coinciding with the end of term. Applications for final year applicants has already gone.

We will posting information about the summer fund later this week.

If you want to talk to someone about your situation, just give us a ring on 01273 642888 or pop in to see an Adviser at your campus.

And most importantly PLEASE VOTE ON THURSDAY 8th JUNE. Don’t know where your polling station is? Click here and pop in your postcode in the box for all the essential information you need to know about your candidates and what they stand for.
