The National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT union) have announced further industrial action in response to Southern Rail’s decision to run in excess of 8000 trains a year with only 1 member of on board staff. This action will be in the form of a 1 day strike on Tuesday 30th May 2017. This is primarily the guards’ dispute, but some drivers will also be on strike in support of their colleagues so expect severe disruption on this day. For some, there may be no trains running at all.

If you have a submission, exam or any other assessment on this day, do be mindful of this disruption before you are due to travel and make alternative arrangements.

Also, if you have season tickets, make sure you claim compensation. For more information on the longstanding dispute, have a look here: RMT announcement
