So, the good news is that the strike planned for 5 days during the week commencing Monday 9th January 2017 has now been reduced to 3 days, namely Tuesday 10th January, Wednesday 11th January and Friday 13th January. Click here for more information.

The bad news is that services timetabled to run on Monday 9th and Thursday 12th may be severely restricted, full to capacity and delayed or cancelled with little notice. There are also more planned strikes for later in January – 24th, 25th and 27th.

Do plan your journey to university in advance and consider other options if you are a regular train user.

Brighton and Hove buses will accept rail tickets on their services and if you are travelling further afield such as Lancing, Worthing, Portsmouth, Hastings etc you may need to claim compensation for the purchse of other bus company tickets.

If you are a Brighton based student travelling locally, we also offer free bus travel on the Big Lemon shuttle, but this peak time only, half hourly service may also be busier than usual.
