Many of us will be looking forward to getting some lovely new shiny gifts at Christmas, which could possibly be replacing or upgrading something we already have.

This provides a great opportunity for making a bit of money and safely recycling.

If you’re looking to sell items you no longer want, try websites like Music Magpie – other stores are also widely available!

Perhaps your mobile or laptop’s lfe has come to an end? If so, you can have a look here to see where and how to recycle things safely and sustainably.

Received a gift, but you want to return or exchange it? Which? offer some excellent consumer rights advice with unwanted Christmas gifts.

If you’re having a clearout at home over the holidays, blankets, sleeping bags, warm clothing, toiletries and towels are always in demand at this time of year for services supporting street homeless so look for shelters in your area and if they’ve seen better days, blankets and towels are always welcome at animal shelters like the Dogs Trust

Finally, Foodbanks are becoming a necessity for many individuals and families living in poverty and lots of supermarkets collect in store for them. Alternatively, have a look at national organisations like Trussell Trust

Wishing you all a very happy holiday and see you in January!
