Included below are a selection of drawing and studies from various sketchbooks.
In sketch books I don’t tend to work out ideas but I do work on imagery. Some times, as I draw, various themes develop. Subjects that when collectivley placed together in a book look deliberate but the intention is the opposite.
There are certain themes that when taken out of context can look cohesive.
This seems to be a personal practice that I have fallen into. Whether through habit, I have yet to move away from the restrictions of pencil drawings into time saving media applications.
There is a largely masculine theme to the majority of these sketches. I do find drawing women boring. They don’t have enough expression or character to hold my attention, whereby a knackered face shrouded in hair is far more engaging.
