Opportunities for work experience

Our courses include a 20-credit module entitled “Personal and Professional Development” (PPD). From the beginning of the academic year, our students get an opportunity to setĀ  personal goals for development of employability skills and knowledge. They reflect on their journey throughout the year and also complete 100 hours of work experience. Some students contact employers they are keen to work with, others apply for positions we advertise such as the following:

1) Research assistant – Boxing (Partnership between English Institute of Sport and University of Brighton)

2) Research assistant – Training study (University of Brighton)

3) Cardiac Rehabilitation Assistant (Active Hearts Programme; University of Brighton)

4) Physiologist Infographics officer (Partnership between English Institute of Sport and University of Brighton)

5) Sport Science support assistant (Consultancy unit; University of Brighton)

6) Sport Physiologist support officer (Partnership between INSEP (Paris) and the University of Brighton)

All students can apply by submiting a CV and cover letter. They can be interviewed and would receive feedback on their overall performance. This is unvaluable when preparing themselves for the “real world”.
