About Sean Goddard

I registered on the MA By Learning Objectives programme at the University of Brighton in January 2018.

I will, for the next three years be studying the history of folk dance with an emphasis  on English folk dancing. During this time I will look at various aspects of the development of folk dance in England. My first task is to talk at the Steps for Success conference in March at Cecil Sharp House, the home of the English Folk Dance and Song Society in London about the dance, Morpeth Rant.

I teach folk dancing at many levels. I teach regularly at  local folk dance clubs and at Barn Dances. Currently, I also teach the Chanctonbury Ring Morris Men in the Cotswold and North-West styles of  Morris dancing. Find out more here: Chanctonbury Ring Morris Men

During the day, I am the Frontline Services Librarian at the neighbouring University of Sussex Library.
