Week 4 – 04/03/19

Again, very similar to last week, I spent the week researching further into the style and meaning I want to create in my final portfolio. By searching on magnum photos and practicing with lighting during the lecture session shown below, I was able to get a clearer understanding of where I want my project to go. The idea at present is to focus on the passing of time and use natural lighting.

THE PASSING OF TIME: ALESSANDRA SANGUINETTI GOES HOME – RESEARCH –

This shoot by Sanguinetti captures the true intentions of the brief ‘sense of place’ given to me for this project. Each image shows the passing of time in its stillness, how the young turns into old and antiques transform into post-modern furniture. For my own project, I wanted to focus on time and discovering this photographer gave me some ideas on how to imbed time into my own work.

SHOOT 1 – WEEK 4

This week we experimented with different camera settings and the effects this can have on an image. By adjusting the cameras aperture, shutter speed and ISO, different effects can be created in order to create deep or shallow depth of fields, intentionally blurred images, or different levels of exposure for artistic results.
