Undergraduate and postgraduate students from our tourism, hospitality, retail, sport development and sport studies courses were invited to take part in a mock graduate assessment provided by Capgemini.

We had the opportunity to meet three members of Capgemini´s team who, with staff at the University, helped us go through a mock assessment. During the session we worked in teams and also did an interview to learn more about our strengths and weaknesses.

Daniel Neilson, a freelance travel writer and book editor specialising in travel, has been teaching tourism and hospitality students this term as a guest lecturer.
Daniel has edited more than 25 guidebooks for Time Out, written several books including the recent Wild Pub Walks for CAMRA and edited national magazines such as The Great Outdoors.
He also contributes to magazines and newspapers including National Geographic Traveller, Wanderlust and The Guardian, and also is a regular speaker at the Adventure Travel Trade Association and with National Geographic Traveller.
Daniel was able to bring his real-life experience to the course and has even got students to contribute to real time projects. Currently he is online and special projects editor of adventure journal Sidetracked and works with tourist boards to produce content. Read More →
