A group of second and third year International Hospitality Management students have been selected to join the Springboard GEMS mentoring programme.
The students are matched with mentors who are professionals within the hospitality industry and will provide them with guidance and support in addition to their studies.
The students met at the Royal Air Force Club this week for a networking day to be matched with their mentors.
International Hospitality Management course leader, Gillian Parfitt said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for the students. I know it will be a great experience which will assist them with their studies but also provide a basis to help them find placements and graduate opportunities for the future.”
Student Anna Moakes will be mentored by one of our alumni, Dominic Evan Hart who graduated from the International Hospitality Management course in 1999 and is currently Human Resources Manager with Red Carnation Hotels.
Krunali Manek said: “I think there isn’t anything better than having a mentor from the hospitality industry as a hospitality student, guiding you, inviting you to events conferences and networking programs. I would like to recommend this to anyone who gets the opportunity.”
