New book from MPA Course Team!

 

Dr Kepa Artaraz and Visiting MPA Professor Michael Hill have co-written a book entitled ‘Global Social Policy’.  For Dr Artaraz this book draws on his experiences of teaching our undergraduate social policy students and our cohorts of international MPA students, as well as his extensive research on Latin America.  For Professor Hill this publication draws on his long career as promient public policy researcher whose core textbook ‘The Public Policy Process’ is in its 7th edition.

MPA Course Leader Receives University Award for ‘Excellence’ in Community Engagement

The University of Brighton is well-known for its exceptional community university engagement.  Ranked in the top 25 UK universities for ‘impact’ the university has an outstanding Community University Partnership Programme with an international reputation.  MPA Course Leader Dr Mary Darking is particularly skilled at researching policy areas where government, policy making and community intersects.  In recognition of some of her recent projects (carried out jointly with Dr Carl Walker) Mary was given an award for ‘Excellence in Community Engagement’ by the university at this year’s graduation ceremony.  Mary said on receiving the award ‘I am very proud to work with organisations who stand up for the most vulnerable in our society and to represent the university in this important policy making space.’
