Great Opportunities with Computacenter!

Hi all,

Computacenter provides computer services to public and private sector customers.

Their roles are based in central London and Hatfield, Hertfordshire. They usually take on about five Business Management (IT Services) placement students each year.

This is a fantastic company to work for. In addition, they are offering you a fast track application process. If you would like to be considered for an interview, please email your CV to me at as soon as possible.

I have attached the job description: Business Management – Industrial Placement-18criyl

You do not need to have any specific IT knowledge to apply. They accept applications from all degree disciplines not just IT as this is a business placement not a technical IT placement.

We have two students working at Computacenter this year.

Jade Guest worked for the company two years ago. She loved the experience. She was ‘embedded’ with companies in the City, where she managed a team of engineers, ensuring the smooth running of major companies’ IT systems. How exciting!

Best of luck!

Dear all,

Happy new year!

A seminar on Interview Questions – How to answer them!

  • What you are likely to be asked at interview
  • How to answer those questions

The session will be on Wednesday 17th January, 1pm till 2pm. Please email me at to book.

Thank you!

Celebrating Black History month!

This month is Black History month. You can find more about this here:

In this post, I would like to celebrate the achievements of two black people very close to home.

Bert Williams MBE is the driving force behind Brighton and Hove Black History. This summer he received an honorary Doctor of Letters from this university for his contribution to the promotion of race equality in the local region.

I know Bert through work he did for Brighton Museum & Art Gallery and I still see him of an occasion at reggae gigs. He is a lovely guy and a terrific representative of his community, very worthy of his honorary doctorate.

Paige Hall is also a great representative of her community. She is going to be a great success.

Paige has recently completed an HR placement at Discovery Communications. She is modest but she said that ‘During my placement year I achieved a very exciting but challenging work experience in the field of HR. I advanced my communication, presentational and problem solving skills and was able to network with a range of people’.

And for the future?

‘In the future I would like to achieve a graduate job in HR and a CIPD qualification.’

I am sure she will achieve these!

Congratulations to both Bert and Paige!
