Next week is Employability week. This is going to be a great week with lots of events!
Here is a link to explore that week: https://blogs.brighton.ac.uk/bbsemployabliityhub/2018/10/31/employability-week-starts-19th-november-2018/
My personal picks of the week are:
Preparing for interviews and assessment centres – local recruitment company GRB will provide hints and tips on how to prepare for interviews and assessment centres. They will also tell you what not to do! 2.30-3.30pm room 165. Book by emailing: firstname.lastname@example.org
Confidence through Comedy – improve your presentation and public speaking skills by taking part in this fun workshop – 11am-12pm room 214. Book by emailing: email@example.com
Psychometric/online testing workshop – these tests are part of most recruitment processes so come along to learn how to prepare and succeed – 11am-12pm room G10. Book by emailing: firstname.lastname@example.org
LOCAL PLACEMENTS FAIR – back for the second year running, local companies offering placement roles will be waiting to meet you. Bring your CV! 4-6pm in Mithras canteen. No need to book.
IBM company presentation – current placement student Daniel Diaz will talk about what it’s like to work for IBM and showcase some of the placements on offer there this year – 11am-12pm room 153. Book by emailing: email@example.com
Design Thinking with SAP – come along to this event to get a step ahead in performing well at assessment centres. Find out more about SAP and how you can perform better in assessments using Design Thinking, a methodology that uses empathy to understand stakeholder’s objectives and problems. The session will be fun and informal, and give you a better insight into how to succeed in securing your placement – 12-1pm room 153. Book by emailing: firstname.lastname@example.org
We expect about 120 of this year’s second years to gain a placement. Make sure that you are one of them by participating in Employability week!
