Message from Virginia Goodwill, Industrial Placement Officer

Dear All,
Welcome back to Term Two.
We hope you had a restful Christmas and New Year and wish you all the best in this new lockdown.
Whilst the majority of you haven’t returned to Brighton and we are still working remotely, The Placements and Employability Team continue to be fully operational and to work normal office hours which are 8.30 – 5pm. We all have available appointments on JobTeaser, so please make an appointment with us to talk about any advice you need to help apply for placements or interview hints and tips or just for a chat and catch up or you can just drop us an email. If any of you have secured interviews or placements over the Christmas break, please share the good news with us.
There are currently 270 live Placements on JobTeaser and more are being added daily. Whilst the media is full of doom and gloom, the GOOD NEWS is that our placement companies are still very positive and looking forward to a new cohort of placement students starting with them for the next academic year. So have a look at JobTeaser and start applying!
We will be continuing our Tuesday Morning Workshops, which will resume on Tuesday 19th January at 11am (These are on MS Teams and the joining code is y8l2mup) we are just finalising the speakers and will publish them on MyStudies very soon. These will all be recorded so you are able to catch up if you miss the session.
We have organised an EMPLOYABILITY WEEK for the week commencing 1st February where we will be running events on MS Teams all week. More details to follow so make a note of the date in your calendars.
Any help you need, you know where we are and we are looking forward to seeing you all on MS Teams.
Kind regards
Virginia, Hazel and Leigh
