The press release for this campaign will be held at Dr. Martens only British factory, Cobbs Lane in Wollaston, Northamptonshire. To keep authentic to the Dr. Marten brand and also as the product is made in England, reducing its carbon footprint, it is more sustainable that its other factories. The event will take place on the 18th December 2018 and will offer event goers with top tips on up-cycling and how best to mend their Dr. Marten boots. Advocate for the brand, Paloma Faith, will be performing at the event and hosting it as her unique and authentic style will suit well for the both the brand and the event. Paloma Faith is keen on saving the environment and has been part of the ‘save the artic’ Vivienne Westwood  campaign and has also worked with PETA to stop the use of animal fur. This will also sit with Dr. Martens’ heartbeat of music.

Paloma Faith  voiced her opinion on the matter saying – “It can’t have escaped your notice that the world is turning its back on fur. Around the globe, consumers and leading fashion designers are rejecting the killing of foxes, rabbits, minks, and other animals for vanity. Here in the UK, fur farming has been banned for almost two decades, and efforts are underway to stop its importation entirely once Britain leaves the European Union… The BFC shouldn’t be endorsing a material whose production is deemed so cruel that it is outlawed in the UK. With the vast number of cutting-edge, eco-friendly faux furs available on the market today, I’m sure you’ll agree that there’s no longer any excuse for killing animals for their fur”. I believe that her passionate voice will suit perfectly for this campaign as the singer shows a want to make the world a better place. Paloma Faith stands up for something which is something that Dr. Martens inspire its customers to do.

This launch will be the face of the campaign and the kick start of the campaign. The launch will also teach people the importance of up-cycling, saving the planet and preventing landfill. Pop-up stalls will be available teaching event goers how to up-cycle their docs and give them the opportunity to hand in any old pairs that are past the point of up-cycling to be recycled into a new pair, this will be in cohesion with Dr. Martens for life collection that allows its customers to hand in any broken shoes with the guarantee of getting a completely new pair. This recycle service will be available to the public in late 2019 and up-cycling tutorials will be on the Dr. Martens blog. The launch as a whole will keep within the aims of the campaign and will also stay true to the brands identity: Uniqueness, Punk and Rock and Roll.[:]
