New Entry Requirements- Canada, China, India, USA and IB!

As informed from our last newsletter, the international office and admissions teams have been reviewing some of our entry requirements. We are bringing you an important announcement to recent changes in requirements for a number of regions. These changes fall in line with the internal market changes, changes in region and in-market demand.

Canada

Undergraduate: We require Ontario Secondary School Diploma with a minimum of 65-70% in six grade 12 U or M courses OR Alberta/ British Colombia/ Nova Scotia High, Secondary School Graduation Certificate with a minimum 65-70% in at least five grade 12 courses OR Manitoba High School Diploma with a minimum of 65-70% in at least five 300-level Grade 12 subjects. For all other Canadian provinces please contact us directly.

Postgraduate: We require a four-year bachelor’s degree or a three-year Baccalaureat or Bachilier degree with a GPA of 2.5 for courses that require a 2:2 equivalent, or 3.0 for courses that require a 2:1.

China

Undergraduate: We will consider the National College Entrance Examination (NCEE)/ Gaokao with a minimum score of 75% overall and 75% in any required subjects. Some courses may require higher at 80%. Applicants with 70% can apply and will be considered. Students taking the Senior Secondary School Certificate (Huikao) need to take and successfully complete an international foundation year.

Postgraduate: Applicants are required to hold a four year benke bachelor degree OR a master degree with an overall grade between 60-70%. Students graduating from a prestigious university may be considered if slightly lower than the 60%, please contact us directly for more information.

India

Postgraduate: We previously had not considered applicants who had not studied at a state university. We will not consider these students for entry onto our masters courses. Please contact us for more information if you have an applicant.

USA

Undergraduate: We will require students to pass their High School Graduation Diploma with a 3.0 GPA plus one of the following:

a score of 1600/2400 on pre-2016 SAT Reasoning Test (SAT)
a score of 1050/1600 on hte new SAT Reasoning Test (SAT)
an ACT of 24+
2 AP tests with scores of 3 or above (dependent on course)
2 SAT Subject Specific Tests (SATS) with minimum scores of 580 in each.

We will also accept a minimum of 30 US college credits.

Postgraduate: We require a four year bachelor degree with a minimum GPA of 2.6. For some courses a GPA of 2.8 will be required.

International Baccalaureate

We welcome applications from students who are completing either the full IB Diploma or components of the IB Diploma. If a student is taking components of the IB, our admissions team will make an individual assessment of the application. We recognise the equivalency of an IB Certificate at Higher Level as equivalent to an A level, and an IB Standard Level as equivalent to an AS level. We will also consider students taking the IB Career-related programme, these will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
