Hospitality guest speakers provide more than food for thought

International Hospitality Management BA(Hons) students welcomed two industry guest speakers who have worked tirelessly in their careers to make a difference as part of the Contemporary Issues in International Hospitality module. First was Ken Crosland from Hospitality Action who brought a wealth of lifetime experience on one of the biggest issues still being faced in hospitality management: alcohol and drug abuse.

Making the most of The Careers Fair

Earlier this month the University of Brighton held its annual careers fair with the University of Sussex and lots of School of Sport and Service Management students took advantage of the opportunity. The event took place at the Amex football stadium and featured over 120 organisations offering job, work-experience and volunteering opportunities in a wide range of sectors.

Teaching and learning invasion games through Lacrosse

Trainee PE teachers experienced an alternative version of invasion games now gaining increasing popularity in UK secondary schools. The game is a non-contact version of lacrosse which uses inexpensive plastic-headed sticks and oversized lacrosse balls.
