As part of my research this week, I began to explore magazines which I felt could be seen as potential competitors. I explored magazines including Breathe, Flow, Soffa, Dim Dam Dom, Kinfolk and Lagom. I chose a selection of publications which were similar to my desired magazine in relation to either design or themes. For example, I chose to explore Flow, Breathe and Lagom magazine because of their mindfulness, balance lifestyle and wellbeing focused content rather than the visual design. Whereas, I looked into Kinfolk, Teeth and Oak magazines for more design inspiration purposes.

This research was really key for me in order to explore ways in which I could make my magazine differ from its competitors and stand out. It was also valuable to explore the flat plan, design, content and social media presence of these publications.
