Carl James has now been awarded his PhD – entitled ‘Optimising strategies to enhance endurance running performance under hot and humid conditions’ – now he has attended to some minor amendments. Carl was examined by Dr Mike Price (Coventry University) and Dr Chris Tyler (University of Roehampton), who made him work hard with a 3 hour 21 minute viva. However, they both commented afterwards how well he performed and how persuasive he was to the merits of his research. Well done to supervisors Dr Neil Maxwell, Assoc. Prof Peter Watt and Dr Alan Richardson. Carl is now an applied physiologist with the Malaysian Institute of Sport (equivalent to the English Institute of Sport). Double congratulations!
