Zine Research

Oddity

Revenge Vol. 4 – Cosisting mainly of photography, in particular fashion photoshoots, with a focus on alternative (or at least not mainstream) fashion, art and culture. In terms of the layout of the magazine, the bold colour theme throughout the photoshoots meant that it stayed consistent despite there being many different themes/ styles. I also liked the addition of colour over the top of black and white photography, with squares of red (one of the consistent colours) overlaying parts of the photo.

Fashion Revolution – Money Fashion Power

As a first issue, this zine expands on the Fashion Revolution organisation that asks “Who Made My Clothes?”. It is truly consistent with it’s current visual identity seen only online until now, with bold, bright colours mixed with photography that is often very textile based, emphasising their focus of the fashion and textile industry. I think that their consistent identity from online to print, as well as the layout and typography is really effective and bold. As a part of this zine, there are some leaflets with information on the organisation.
